Ann Gover is a British artist based in Bristol. She has had exhibitions in London and Bath, the Bristol Guild and the RWA New Gallery, Bristol, and the Sarnarno Arts Festival, Italy.
She is a member of Spike Island printmakers, and exhibits with the Bath Society of Arts, the RWA and RWA Friends, and the Tobacco Factory, Bristol.
She is currently working with a broad range of materials, including pastel, enamel and etching. Her work features landscape, portraits and Commedia dell'Arte themes.
In her still life and figurative paintings she tries to engender a feeling of repose and contemplation; serendipity and intuition play a large part, and at times her work becomes surreal and disturbing. She gains inspiration from artists such as Goya, Chardin, Odilon Redon and Morandi.
