Ann Gover is a painter and enameller. She studied at the Arts Student’s League, New York, and taught for several years at colleges throughout the UK. She lives and works in Bristol, and is a member of the British Enamelling Society. In her still life and figurative paintings she tries to engender a feeling of repose and contemplation, but serendipity and intuition play a large part, and sometimes her work becomes more surreal and disturbing. Influences on her painting include Vermeer, Chardin, Odilon Redon, Morandi, and Goya.
